Thanks to generous donations from supporters, the University of Toronto (Hong Kong) Foundation advances the interests of the U of T and Hong Kong by soliciting and administering donations for scholarships.
The University of Toronto {Hong Kong) Foundation Scholarships enable students from Hong Kong who are in financial need to attend U of T and receive a world-class education.
Since its launch in 1995, the Foundation has helped more than 90 brilliant students to receive a transformative education at U of T, one of the world’s top-ranked universities. These talented scholars receive a world-class education that enables them to become leaders in their professions and their communities. Hong Kong scholars have pursued more than 40 different disciplines, with more than half of graduates going on to post-graduate study. Today, they live and work in 15 nations around the world.
Donations made through the engage.utoronto.ca portal will receive a Canadian tax receipt.
Donations of HK$100 or more are eligible for a Hong Kong tax receipt, which will be sent to you by mail.

In celebration of the U of T (Hong Kong) Foundation’s 25th anniversary in 2020, U of T President Meric Gertler, Foundation Chair Daisy Ho and Vice-President Advancement David Palmer joined past and present scholars in a fireside chat to discuss the Foundation’s incredible impact on talented Hong Kong students.
The University of Toronto (Hong Kong) Foundation Limited currently administers six scholarship programs:
One scholarship is offered each year to an exceptional student with family financial need, high academic results, extracurricular involvement and community service. The award is valid for any undergraduate program, at any campus of the University of Toronto. The value of the award is CDN $30,000 per year, renewable each year for a 4-year undergraduate degree.
Mr. William Doo has generously endowed this scholarship program for outstanding Hong Kong students with strong financial need. The value of this award for the academic year is CDN $27,500, renewable annually to complete an honours undergraduate degree in four years in any discipline. Two scholarships are available annually.
Dr. Patrick Y.B. Fung and family kindly endowed this scholarship for talented Hong Kong students with strong financial need. The value of the award is CDN $16,500 renewable annually to complete an honours undergraduate degree in any bachelor’s degree. One scholarship is available annually.
Ms. Daisy Ho and Mr. Lawerence Ho have generously endowed this scholarship to support bright and deserving students in Hong Kong to study at University of Toronto. The award is valued at CDN $33,000, renewable for a 4-year undergraduate degree in any program. One scholarship is available annually.
This Scholarship is for applicants to study at the University of Toronto, preferably Computer Sciences program. It was generously endowed by Dato Luis Tong. The award is offered to student with financial need, excellent academic result, and all-rounded development. The value of this award is CDN $12,500, in first and second year at any campus. One scholarship is available annually.
This scholarship was generously endowed by Mr. Kenneth Lo as a top-up award for a student receiving a U of T Hong Kong Scholarship. The award is valid for any undergraduate program, at any campus of the University of Toronto. The value of the award is CAD$10,000, renewable of a 4-year Bachelor’s degree. One scholarship is available every 4 years.

A sub-committee of the Foundation assists the University in selecting the scholarship recipients.
